Update!!

I know I have been in America for nearly a week with with no update, but that will change later when I publish all my draft posts! Just need to upload my pictures to make them complete!

Update on packing

You know your having a suitcase fail if after the first time you pack it up it weighs 27KG... 

This results in suitcase over weight restriction.

Will look at loosing a few items in the morning as its so so heavy.

Now to start on hand luggage items.

I now have hand luggage!

I now have just days to go before I fly out to New York...
This week has gone very quickly, I have finally got hand luggage which consists of a back pack with a special compartment for my laptop, perfect to take with me as I decided I did not want to bring more bags than necessary. However, a little bit more than what I wanted to pay for a back pack, but I think I will be able to just about fit everything I need to in it- laptop, iPad, camera, documents, purse and Jeremy (these are essentials for me!).

<<< This is Jeremy, my boyfriend bought me Jeremy (his name choice, but I think it very much suits him) this week, such a nice present as I have an obsession with stars and Jeremy is covered in them! I really hope I will be able to take him with me to New York I will make sure he fits in my hand luggage! I want to take a bear with me so I can have a page on my blog about my bears adventures. When I was at school we used to have a class bear that went on school trips!

So Jeremy is inside my hand luggage bag (his new home for now, as I cannot take his build a bear box with me), this makes the bag look very very small, however in the front compartment he fits in perfectly, and there is still room for my other items.





This week one of my uni friends sent me a little parcel which had some travel items in, which is great as I can take them with me. (Thanks if your reading... travel size dry shampoo very very very useful)

Also this week I finally finished watching Friends, one of my all time favourite television shows ever. My boyfriend bought me the box set for my birthday and I am glad we finished watching it together, and just in time...

This weekend will be packing as I haven't started yet, wish me luck!

Nyan Cat Game

Possibly one of the greatest pop tart inventions.... This short computer game allows you to play as Nyan cat (pop tart cat) collecting delicious food whilst trying to avoid collecting the vegetables- this is how I want to live my life just looking for cookies and cakes (play game to understand more). Also- really like the pixel graphic effect on this game.

Nearly 1 week to go.....

This week has gone so quickly, after my anticipated Costa reunion with friends I have also visited the Victoria and Albert (V&A) museum in London, and been to BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, my friend thought I should go as this is something very British to do. I also got to see my boyfriend this week who has bought me the entire 24 (television series) box set, definitely something to watch when I come back, working my way through Friends at the minute, with just part of season 9 and season 10 to go, hopefully will be finished next week (fingers crossed).
I have not actually done much in preparation for leaving as I have been out most of the week, but currently looking for a suitable hand luggage item to get, luckily I have I think all the paperwork completed and ready to go, I know a few students travelling to America who still have not got Visa's sorted, something to try and get completed early on, a mission for this week will be finishing unpacking from uni (it seems this is currently my on-going project).

Back to Kingston...

I am on my way to see my best friend from university today, this may be the last time I see her before I leave, so I am staying for a few days. We have decided to have an English tea party on one of the days, as from now on I well be submerged into American culture (very excited about by the way). Hopefully as well we will be having a costa reunion, Costa coffee was a particular favourite hangout of ours whilst we were at university.

My first ever blog post.

I am really excited to be starting my blog as I have never written a blog or anything before, so now I will be testing my journalism skills out.

I am currently in the run up to leaving to the UK for America with about 2 weeks to go..... I cannot believe how quickly the summer holiday is going, I left university in June and I still have not finished unpacking my bags yet, and very soon I will have to start packing up for America.

Today I bought my suitcase for travelling, but I still do not think it is big enough, only because I somehow have to pack items for nearly a year into a box on wheels. But for now it has the Fran approval.








Anyway I was not quite sure what to write for my first ever blog post but I have attempted something ^^
I want to try and post something everyday, especially when I actually arrive in America, and if you do decide to follow my adventure and read along I hope you enjoy reading these posts.
